Deepak has been a Director since 2004 and is Vice President of the Board. He is the lead director for the sickle cell and thalassaemia part of the service provided by SCTSP. Deepak was a Consultant Paediatrician in Wolverhampton for 26 years before his retirement in 2013. He had a special interest in children’s blood disorders, including sickle cell disease and thalassaemia.

He studied medicine at the University of Manchester, qualifying in the 1970s. Thereafter he worked in several hospitals around the country before his appointment as a Consultant Paediatrician in Wolverhampton in the 1980s.
