On Tuesday 10th October 2023, Collins Aerospace embRACE ERG invited a few young people who are supported by Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia Support Project to attend their STEM day. Young participants were provided with a unique opportunity to explore the world of science and engineering. The event was thoughtfully designed to be educational, fun and inclusive, ensuring that everyone had a chance to participate.
One of the highlights of the day was a hands-on-activity in which the young people worked closely with apprentices at Collins Aerospace. Together, they were tasked with designing holders for eggs to protect them when launched. This project not only showcased their creativity and problem-solving skills but also gave them a taste of real-world engineering challenges.
Young participants also had the opportunity to take a site tour of Collins Aerospace. This was a great chance for them to witness the intricate world of aerospace engineering up close. It opened their eyes to the countless possibilities that STEM careers hold and served as an inspiration for their future endeavours.
Thank you to Collins Aerospace for inviting us to be part of STEM day, we look forward more opportunities like this in the future.
